Kitchen Update and Paxton's First Birthday

KITCHEN UPDATE:

We have the counter-tops and all appliances hooked up and yesterday the electrician came out and put in the Can Lighting and Pendent Lights!!! However, yesterday our excitement came to a screeching halt when the electrician informed me we had a busted pipe under the sink!! We are thinking the pipe had busted during the demo and so now we have a small pond under our house....nice. Hopefully, the plumber will be out today.

Here's the kitchen so far!

We love how it's turning out!! Now, we have to do the back splash, get vent hood, new oven, have cabinets guys back out to finish things off, buy furniture for the living nook, and fix the fireplace area. ALMOST THERE!!!! :-)

Now, on to Paxton's First Birthday!!!

Our nephew turned 1 on May 17th!!!

Auntie and Uncle love you Pax-Man!!! Side note: I made Pax's shirt he is wearing :-)

Paxton is such an amazing little boy and we are grateful for him everyday. A year has flown by! May 17th was the day God brought him into this world and on May 19th he met his mommy and daddy who had been loving him so much in their hearts without even knowing he was on his way. This was "Gotcha Day" when Jennifer and Caddo drove down to Harlingen, TX to go pick up their son....Paxton Jay Studdard and bring him home. :-)

No Rest for the...

Sitser's! It's been a busy few weeks for us. We went to Hillsboro for dads birthday, Houston for a wedding and to see family/friends and a craw fish boil, celebrated our one year anniversary, I got sick with Mono, Easter and Matt raced in the MS 150 this past weekend. Whew! We enjoyed it all minus the Mono which is horrible and leaves you feeling lethargic for a month after symptoms are gone BUT I'm feeling better every day.

Matt did awesome at the MS 150 this past weekend. I'm so proud of him! Our friend Chris rode with Matt on the First Choice Power Team and his girlfriend Lindsey and I cheered them on! Day one of the race, we had to leave the house at 5:30am to get the guys to Oklahoma Frisco in time for the race. After they took off Linds and I went to breakfast (which is hard to find somewhere open at 7am), got our nails done, and did some shopping b/c we figured we deserved it since we woke up and were so supportive of the guys that early in the morning! To our surprised the guys called around 11:30am saying they only were a hour from the finish and to start heading to Texas Motor Speedway where the finish was for day one. The guys ended up doing 85 miles that day and were done by 12:30pm AND were the first of their team mates to finish! We were very proud! The second day got canceled due to thunderstorms which honestly was a bummer to the guys not being able to finish what they had been training for BUT it meant we could go home and go back to bed which Linds and I were ecstatic about!

I'll leave you with some pictures to enjoy of the last few weeks.
