My Hubby, The American...

That's right folks, today Matt was sworn in as a United States Citizen! It was a nice ceremony with people from all over the world...old and young. It made me wonder sitting there, what kind of journey some of these people have gone through to get them to their seat in that auditorium. It really gave you a since of pride for our country. Some of these places the people were from, I had never heard in my life! ha Anyway, I wanted to share with you a few pictures of the ceremony.

Yes, we had to get there that early....it was still dark outside

Just a few more things left...

to do in the kitchen. Seems like I've been saying that forever and the list seemed to keep growing. Well now I can actually see the end in sight! Thank the Lord...FINALLY! haha! The electrician came out and finished everything up, the cabinet guys came back and finished up (besides a drawer under the oven that we had to order...grrrr!), oh and our oven is in! So, now all we need to do is the backslash, get a vent hood, fix the fireplace, and buy a new TV for over the fireplace. After those 4 things it will be complete! YAY! We are so happy how it has turned out and are already enjoying it so much. Can't wait till it is 100% though!! Here are some recent pictures of the new oven and the finished cabinets.

Weekend of Cupcakes, Birthday Parties, & Family

Hope you all enjoyed the nice long holiday this past weekend! It was a nice break for us. Thursday night, Matt and I headed down to Katy to keep our nephew Paxton the next day while his mama and dada were at work. We had a fun time spending time with the little cutie pie and boy did he keep us busy and on our toes! haha! After keeping Paxton and spending some time with Jen and Caddo we headed over to Magnolia to hangout with Matts mom and dad, Nick and Diane. Saturday, Diane and I spent all afternoon working on Sticky Toffee Pudding Cupcakes for a friend of the family, Joe Ditolla, birthday party that we were heading out to that evening. They turned out AMAZING! The party was just as amazing and we all enjoyed tons of yummy food and drink! The Ditolla's always know how to throw a great party!
Sunday, Diane and I spent the afternoon once more in the kitchen getting more cupcakes ready for Amy, Matt s sisters, birthday/housewarming party that was later on that afternoon. We had Mijito, Red Velvet, Lemon, Chocolate Swirl, Hazelnut Chocolate, and Sticky Toffee Pudding Cupcakes! Are you drooling yet? You should be b/c they all were fantastic! It was a fun afternoon at Amy's b-day/housewarming party and she got lots of goodies for the house. We were so glad to finally see Amy and James's new casa...which is fabulous by the way! Lots of room and a huge backyard! They rented a bounce house/boxing ring for the kids AND adults to enjoy.  ;-) Jennifer, Caddo, and Paxton came by too and Pax LOVED the bounce house....we couldn't get him out of the thing! haha! He was so funny.
It was a long weekend filled with great food, family, and friends! I'm pretty sure I gained at least 5 pounds but it was worth it or at least that's what I'm telling myself! ;-) Back to reality now...at least we have a short week!  Oh, and stay tuned b/c I will be posting an update on the kitchen this week! :-)
